Dr Zairul Azwan was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur in 1977 and received his Medical
Degree (MD) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2001 and later a Master of Surgery
(MS) from the exact same university in 2010. He received further accreditation as a
Fellow in Colorectal Surgery from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre in
2016. Subsequently, his career continued in Korea University, Seoul, South Korea and
obtained a fellowship in Robotic & Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery. In 2018, he
successfully registered into The National Specialist Register (NSR) in General Surgery
and Colorectal Surgery.
