Emile is the Head and Senior Consultant Surgeon of Department of Colorectal Surgery at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and & National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). His clinical interests are in Robotic and Laparoscopic Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS). He is mentor to a generation of colorectal surgeons and grown a department expert in top-down Robotic MIS and bottom-up MIS TATME. Under his leadership, the SGH Department of Colorectal Surgery offers state of the art care in cancer diagnostics and surgical treatment, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Pelvic Floor Disorders and Proctology, delivered using the latest technology and platforms. Emile also serves as lead for Value Driven Outcomes in colorectal resections for SGH, helping define and refine the matrices of assessment and quality improvement in this area. Emile is a trailblazer in MIS Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery, pushing the boundaries in Colorectal Cancer care and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He has a strong interest in disease of the anus and in quality-of-life surgery. Emile is well published in the field of Colorectal Surgery and has given numerous presentations at national and international conferences.
