Mohana Raj Thanapal is currently a consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon in Hospital Kuala Lumpur. He obtained is medical degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2004 and went on to complete his MRCS and FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons England and Masters of Surgery (Universiti Malaya). Upon completion of his postgraduate studies in 2012, he joined the Malaysian Colorectal Subspecialty programme in July 2015 and completed his training in October 2019. He had his initial 2 years of training in Malaysia. Subsequent Overseas Colorectal Fellowship training was in United Kingdom. Upon completion of the training, He has been posted to HKL as a general and colorectal Surgeon since November 2019. His area of interest is in locally advanced colorectal cancer and young colorectal cancers.
